What if I find the work really difficult?
Lots of students are scared by the number of different subjects they will have to do when they move to secondary school, and are worried that they will find it too difficult.
Your teachers will teach the work at a speed and a level that they think best suits your class, so you should never feel that you are falling behind as long as you are trying your best and paying full attention.
If you do fall behind on work or don't understand something, ask your teacher or classroom assistant. They are there to help! They might be able to explain the work in a way that makes more sense to you or break it down into smaller steps, so don't be scared to ask.
Sometimes, you might find a homework difficult when you don't have a teacher there to ask for help. We ask that you would always try your best at all homework tasks, and not give up without giving them a go. If you have asked for help at home and still don't understand it, get a parent or guardian to write a note for your teacher explaining this. If the homework is not due to be handed in for a few days, you could also go and see that teacher the next day and ask them if they could explain it to you again.
