What if I forget some of my books or other equipment?
We hope that you will develop good habits about bringing equipment into school - using your timetable, packing your bag the night before and colour-coding your books with different colours for different subjects are all really great ideas. However, we know that you might sometimes forget some books or other equipment, no matter how organised you are.
If you forget a small piece of epuipment like a pen or other piece of stationery, you might be able to borrow some from a friend or your form teacher. if not, ask the teacher when you arrive at class if you could please borrow the item for that lesson. Make sure you hand it back at the end!
If you forget your PE kit, make sure you tell the teacher as soon as you arrive at the class. They will give you something to do, either helping with the PE lesson or doing written work.
If you forget books for a class, tell the teacher as soon as your arrive at their lesson. They will usually lend you paper to write your notes on - it is up to you to make sure these are copied into the right place in your book, and this should usually be done before the next lesson.
However, we know that sometimes people might not have their books back for a few days - for example, if you stay with different family members on different days, you might know that you will not be able to get a book back until you are back at a certain house. If this is the case, speak to your form teacher (or classroom assistant if there is one with your class), and they will let your teachers know.
