In 2023, Lagan College was once again awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award for the fifth time! This is an amazing achievement and shows that Lagan is committed to taking action on the points listed above, involving all staff and students and having an Eco-Committee set up so that students who are particularly interested in this can be more involved and oversee the work that is going on within the school. They have also drawn up an 'Eco-Code' which all staff and students are expected to follow.

As well as having a 'Green Flag' award, Lagan College is also an Ambassador School for Eco-Schools NI. This means that we are seen as an excellent example for other schools to follow, particularly in our specialist area of climate change. We are very proud of this as there are only ten ambassador eco-schools in the whole of Northern Ireland!
Watch the video below to see two of our students - Megan and Carter - getting to interview the Environment Minister! Remember, if this is the sort of thing you think you would enjoy, you can join the Junior Eco-Club or Eco-Committee!
